9.13 LCC Cloud

Cloud reconstruction for a single scene, on a subscription that is separate from LCC Studio Premium. What it costs, what the monthly allowance actually measures, what it cannot do, and when a workstation is still the right answer.

What LCC Cloud Does, and What It Costs

LCC Cloud reconstructs one scan into a 3DGS model on XGRIDS servers, so a laptop can produce a finished model without a reconstruction workstation. You upload a capture, the cloud reconstructs it, and you view, download, and publish the result from a browser.

It is a separate purchase from LCC Studio. A Premium subscription does not include it, and buying LCC Cloud does not give you Premium.

The allowance is measured on capture length, not processing time. XGRIDS states the limit as 250 minutes per month of scan capture. A scan spends its own recorded length out of the allowance, whatever the servers take to reconstruct it. Budget the month by how much scanning you will upload, not by how hard the job is to process.

Section 2

LCC Cloud Is Not Part of an LCC Studio Premium Subscription

These are three separate things, and a buyer who assumes one covers another pays twice or plans a job around processing they do not have.

LCC Cloud	Cloud reconstruction, $800 per year. Single scene only. Bought separately from Premium, and neither includes the other.

The practical split: Premium buys capability on hardware you own, LCC Cloud buys capacity you do not have to own. A team doing Map Fusion work needs Premium whether or not it also has LCC Cloud, because the cloud does not fuse.

Section 3

Operating Limits

Single-scene reconstruction is the limit that decides most jobs. Map Fusion, Aerial-Ground Fusion and HD Enhancement are desktop features in LCC Studio Premium, and no amount of cloud allowance substitutes for them. Plan a multi-segment site as a workstation job.

The figures below come from XGRIDS dealer pages. XGRIDS publishes no LCC Cloud manual, so they are the best available source, and they are marked here rather than presented as manufacturer specifications. Confirm anything a purchase depends on with XGRIDS before you commit to it.

Data residency is a question for XGRIDS, not for this page. The regions above are dealer-reported. If a client contract governs where their data may be stored or processed, get the answer in writing from XGRIDS Technical Support before you upload that client's capture.

Section 4

Which Devices Are Supported

LCC Cloud accepts captures from Lixel L3, Lixel L2 Pro, Lixel K2 and PortalCam.

XGRIDS has not published a device list, so this one comes from us. The XGRIDS store listing names no device, and the only list published anywhere is a dealer's, describing a release behind the current one and naming three devices rather than four. Alpine states the L3 on its own dealer information. If a purchase turns on L3 support, ask us and we will confirm it with XGRIDS in writing before you order.

Section 5

When the Cloud Is the Right Call

Field team needs a client-viewable model before leaving the region	LCC Cloud. Upload from the hotel, publish a link the next morning.
Multi-segment site needing Map Fusion	LCC Studio Premium on a workstation. The cloud reconstructs one scene at a time.
Aerial-Ground Fusion or HD Enhancement	LCC Studio Premium. Neither is a cloud feature.
Capture longer than the reported single scene ceiling	Split it in the field, or process on the desktop. A scene that exceeds the ceiling is a field planning decision, made before the scan, not after.
Client data under a residency restriction	Desktop, until XGRIDS confirms the processing region in writing.

The monthly allowance sets the working rhythm. Divide 250 minutes per month by your own typical scan length to size the month before you buy. A team that exceeds it regularly is buying a workstation sooner or later, and the subscription is the bridge until then.
